چکیده

Extraction of cellulose and hemicellulose from natural resources has attracted considerable interest. In comparison to other cereals, there is relatively little knowledge on the cellulose, lignin content sorghum by-products. As such, aims this study were develop a multi-step process for by-products (bran, stalk panicles) fractionation characterise them with regards their physicochemical properties. terms chemical composition, panicles found similar bran, featuring significant presence arabinoxylans as well. A sequential alkaline extraction varying concentrations NaOH was applied, resulting in generation three fractions (residue, alkali soluble lignin). Fractionation stalks 1.0 M at 50 °C 3 h obtained ~64 % (w/w) rich fraction 52 xylose, predominant fraction. 0.75 ~40 Approximately 76 glucose reflecting starch solubilisation case while nearly 2 alkaline-soluble extracted. Overall, demonstrated an effective approach recovery key components

Digestion kinetics of carbohydrate fractions of citrus by-products

The present experiment was carried out to determine the digestion kinetics of carbohydrate fractions of citrus by-products. Grapefruit pulp (GP), lemon pulp (LE), lime pulp (LI) and orange pulp (OP) were the test feed. Digestion kinetic of whole citrus by-products and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) fraction and acid detergent fiber (ADF) fractions of citrus by-products were measured using the <e...

Carbohydrate Polymers

Novel composites between cellulose (CEL) and keratin (KER) from three different sources (wool, hair and chicken feather) were successfully synthesized in a simple one-step process in which butylmethylimidazolium chloride (BMIm+Cl−), an ionic liquid, was used as the sole solvent. The method is green and recyclable because [BMIm+Cl−] used was recovered for reuse. Spectroscopy (FTIR, XRD) and imag...

Evaluation of Aluminum Concentration in Albumin Products Prepared by Blood Fractionation

Human Serum albumin as well as other biological products prepared by blood fractionation for clinical purposes, was found to contain different amount of aluminum in different commercially available human albumin solutions. It has been reported that interaction of chemicals with the container material can occur during plasma collection, manufacture and storage, so aluminum is introduced into alb...
